My Story

Born in 1979, I faced significant health challenges early in life, including surgeries in 1979, 1983 and 1984 to correct anatomical issues that affected my head and kidneys. Despite these obstacles, I embraced an active lifestyle, participating in baseball, competitive swimming, snow skiing, and sailing.

In March 1992, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After undergoing chemotherapy and radiation, I was declared cancer-free by November of the same year. I graduated high school in 1997 and continued my education at Texas A&M University, where I studied history, attended every football game, and fell in love. I married and welcomed my first daughter, Emily Joy, in December 2003.

After moving to Ohio, our second daughter, Abigail Faith, was born in 2006. My life took several turns, including a divorce and a subsequent marriage and divorce, leading to a journey across Texas.

In February 2024, I faced a myxedema crisis that resulted in heart and kidney failure, nearly costing me my life. Thankfully, after intensive treatment, my heart and kidneys began to recover. However, by the fall of 2024, the cumulative damage to my kidneys became critical. In January 2025, I started dialysis and began the search for a kidney transplant.

This website represents a pivotal step in my journey—seeking a living donor to avoid the lengthy wait for a kidney, allowing me to regain a more normal life more quickly.
