Yesterday, June 9, 2026, was supposed to be the day. It was the day that I wass supposed to get my new kidney. Unfortunately, about a month and a half before I had a cardiac cathiterization that revelaed a problem. The problem was a blockage of the Left Anterior Descending (LAD) artery. This is the artery that supplies about 50% of the blood to the heart muscle. My LAD was blocked significatnly enough that while they were initially checking another potential complication they decided to put in stents to avoid a heart attack. These stents require six months of blood thinning medication and thus my June 9, transplant was postponed approximately six months. Yesterday, was as hard a day on dialysis as I have had. It was depressing to realize that the day before was supposed to be the last time I did dialysis. It was hard to be focused on any one thing. But today is a new day and I am a month and a half closer to that kidney than I was the day after my heart cath.
